Eddie Twist was a lively stand-up comedy character created and performed by comedy actor Allin Kempthorne between 2008 and 2014.
A comedian, MC, presenter and event compère, Eddie Twist racked up an impressive résumé. Portrayed with a warm West Country charm and a mischievous grin and always dressed in his black waistcoat, white shirt and a skull and crossbones belt buckle, Eddie Twist lit up a wide variety of venues around the British comedy club and festival circuits. His high-octane energy and razor-sharp crowd work made him a natural MC and event host, appearing in shows with the likes of Russell Kane, John Maloney, Scott Capurro and Ian Cognito.
Eddie Twist was also part of comedian Lee Evans' record breaking "BIG" show at the O2 Arena where Eddie joined Lee dancing around a piano dressed as a chef.
Eddie Twist appeared in many high profile comedy competitions including Chelmsford Comedian of the Year (Finalist), Last Minute New Comedian of the Year (Semi-Finalist), Laughing Horse New Comedian of the Year (Quarter Finalist) and the BBC New Comedian of the Year.
Beyond the stages of the comedy club circuit audiences also followed Eddie’s offbeat adventures in the YouTube series "Twisted Britain" produced by Wibbell Productions inwhich Eddie was “let out of Cornwall” to explore the curious corners of the UK, sharing his signature twisted take on the characters, events and communities he encountered.
Although Allin Kempthorne no longer performs as Eddie Twist he greatly enjoyed his years playing Eddie on the comedy circuit and looks back on them with pride and fondness. Allin has since gone on to carve out a highly successful career as a comedy magician.
